    Hi

I am having a problem with the PDF files on this site in that their first pages are not visible when using iPad Safari. All is fine with Firefox, MS Edge, and Chrome. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

    Many thanks
    Steve

When you say first page not visible, what exactly do you mean. In preview or when you download the file?

The downloaded file is fine but the first page does not show in Preview

I’ve tested with a normal browser as well as an iPhone 8, and I can’t recreate the issue. I don’t have an iPad around but will try with one later.

I have had a problem following updating my site to WordPress 5.3 which means you cannot currently access the Documents Library. I will let you know when this has been corrected
    Many thanks

All back to normal with the website now so can you please test on an iPad when you are able.

I Cann’t recreate the problem using my own devices, are you still experiencing this issue?

Unfortunatelky yes. I will try with a different iPad. The one I have no longer allows further Safari software updates though I do not have this problem wither other sites using Memphis Documents Library. It could be something in the PDF created so will try on another site where there is no problem but will also try a file known to work elsehwere on this site. Can then narrow down as to whether it is a machine, file or website issue

Well. This has proved interesting. The test PDF file displaying the odd behaviour on the problem site has the same issue on another site.

A test file from that other site works well on the problem site. I have not yet been able to test on a more up-to-date version of Safari on iPad. However, from this, it seems to me that the problems lies with the file.

Looking back, the files displaying the problem were all provided to me by someone else as MS word documents which I converted to PDFs; since I have converted other files of mine to PDFs that work properly, the problem cannot be with the conversion process but with what the original file contains, perhaps on page 1.

I have tried deleting and recreating the first page but the problem persists.

Does this help take us further forward?
