My friend is hosting a site on his own server-which is already up, but I want to redo the whole site using wordpress. so if he downloads wordpress on his server-im assuming he needs to give me the wordpress login information and FTP login information-right?
    1) Is that all I need then?
    2) So then I go to the site name with /wp-login.php behind it and login in?
    3) I will then have the wordpress dashboard and be able to start redoing that site-right?
    4) What happens to the old site information though?
    THANKS for any help!

    Hi Sherri,

    1) Yes, once WP is installed you can begin working.
    2) That is correct. Make sure you have admin privileges to be able to make changes to the site.
3)Once again, you will see the familiar WP dashboard as usual.
    4) Unfortunately, the old site information will be overwritten. So if your friend wishes to have access to it in the future he/she should make a backup of the site with his web host. Almost all hosting companies provide this feature, but be sure to check beforehand.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Good luck with the new wordpress site!
