First-last Name required?

  • I’m trying to set up a member directory for individuals (artists) and organisations.

    The registration for organisations has an ‘organisation name’ field which I would like to be the name displayed in the profile but instead it shows the email address.

    And, if logged in as an organisation, under ‘my account’ it shows ‘first name’ and ‘last name’ instead of ‘organisation name’.

    Is there any way to get this working for both account types? Thank you.

    Apologies for the second question, as I found the ‘Add a First & Last Name fields’ in settings.

    Hi @stunley,

    You can change display name in Ultimate member -> Settings -> User -> User display name.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to have different display names for different user roles, however, we will see if we can add this in the future, thanks for letting us know.

    Thanks for replying. I made a workaround

    Having first name and last name for artists (reg and profile) and organisation name for organisations (reg and profile) and then set custom fields in Display Name Custom Field(s) to first_name,last_name,organisation_name.

    It still means that in the Dashboard>Users there is no ‘Name’ displayed for organisations and the username is the organisations email address, so I have set login to email and password.
