After using the “Fix broken HTML” to solve my previous issue, I now end up with an empty (blank) homepage. All other pages works fine, but not the homepage (and only for translated pages).

I did try to turn off my cache plugin.

    How to fix that?

    Hello,

I have tried replicating your issue and found a conflict between Yoast SEO and this specific TranslatePress setting.

Can you please try disabling it and see if it makes a difference?

Let me know how this goes.

Same goes here – Still white/blank page after disabling Yoast plugin.

Any idea on how to fix this?

    Hi again,

Since this looks a lot like a conflict with some other code, the first/next recommended step is the conflict test:

??*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If this fixes the problem, as it probably will, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

Please let us know when you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.

I’ve tried with only Woocommerce, Translatepress and Flatsome theme. This still only shows a blank page on the homepage. I do not want to turn off my theme. Firstly I don’t want to mess with it as it is live site and second, I am still going to use it, so I need to get it to work with my theme or I can’t use it.

Any other ideas? – I would love to buy premium version, but I have to get it working before I do so.

    Hello,

Is there anything relevant in the console?

Can you please give me a link to your site?

Also, with “Fix missing broken HTML” disabled , do you still get a blank page ?

    Hi Dragos,

With “Fix missing broken HTML” disabled it all works fine, however then i get this error:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/8211-is-shown-where-is-used/
(which is why I enabled it in the first place)

The console shows this on the blank page:
Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response sv:1 was received.

I can give you the url, but I do not want to post it here. Is there another way?

NOTE: I have tried to disable all installed extensions in Chrome, but still it shows nothing but an empty blank page on the homepage.

    Thanks

    Hi again,

Can you please try switching to another theme?

You can do that in a staging environment so it won’t affect your live site.

In this way we can see if there is a conflict with your current theme and resolve it or rule out this posibility.

I have also tried replicating your other issue, but it seems that dashes are displayed correctly on my local instance.

Let me know how this goes and we will debug this further.

I finally tried to switch theme (twenty-twenty) with only Translatepress and woocommerce activated.
    Home page is still blank?

    Hello,

Are you using automatic translation ?

There is a bug that has been reported by a few users that is similar to yours.

Some special characters are shown as their encoded version when using automatic translation.

    With the best regards,

Yes, I am using automatic translation.
So will there be a fix for this?

    Dragos

    (@dragosvrejiu)

    Hi again,

Yes, a fix will be out in the future updates of TranslatePress.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, however after v 1.6.4 I still get broken translations like “& #8211;” and if I click Fix broken HTML I still get a blank home page?

    (@dragosvrejiu)

    Hello,

Can you try manually editing the places where you get #8211 ?

    Best regards,
