    The plugin was enabled on the site https://www.trinhall.cam.ac.uk/ and immediately after this the site went down until the plugin was disabled.

    Website version used is 6.6.1, I noticed there is a warning which says the plugin has not been tested using this version.

    Hi @marthacrucible

    WordPress does not take down a site if a plugin isn’t compatible with the latest version. You can see this in practice if you use the Live Preview on the Plugins product page, https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-banner/, which always uses the latest version of WordPress, but Simple Banner still functions properly. You likely have another plugin installed that is performing this action.

    I will be updating the plugin soon to show WordPress 6.6.1 compatibility. Thanks.
