• I am using a child theme of Twenty Twelve. URL: https://www.perthpunk.com

Everything looks as intended on my 22inch monitor, with the computer font size set to ‘normal’, but on viewing the site on my second smaller CRT monitor (17inch, I think), the page background side margins are no longer visible. Is there a way of “fixing” these background margins so they look proportionally the same on a smaller monitor, or with font set to a different size, please? ie: allowing the background to be visible and looking the same on a smaller monitor as on my 22 inch…

    Cheers

  • Twenty Twelve is a responsive (mobile compatible) theme and hence it is designed to adjust the site to different screen resolutions.Hence your child theme will inherit the properties and hence it is hiding the margins based on the screen size. I am not sure you can edit the child theme to make the side margins visible, with out editing the parent twenty twelve theme. I would suggest you try a static parent theme if you definitely want the site looking same on every screen resolution.

OK, thanks simplysaru. If that’s the story, I guess I’d rather retain responsiveness and stay with the Twenty Twelve child theme.

    Appreciate your clarification.
