    Hey guys,

First of all, awesome plugin, thank you for making it available for free!

I am running into an issue where my table of contents is fairly long, so when I scroll further down, it sticks and cuts off the bottom of the TOC.

You’ll be able to see this issue on the website I linked.

I’m wondering if there’s any kind of workaround?

    Thanks,
    Harry

    Hi Harry,

    thanks for reaching out.

The behavior for very long widgets is indeed not optimal. Though, it should normally allow you to scroll to the bottom and see the rest of it.

Your TOC widget is not sticky right now so I don’t know if it behaves differently than in my tests. Can you enable it again for a day?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hey I re-enabled it, so it should be working your end now ??

Thanks for checking out the issue <3

    Thank you!

What I am seeing is that the top of the widget is fixed at the top of the page until the end of the site is reached. In that case, it scrolls to the bottom of the widget.

This is the expected behavior. However, I understand that it is not how you would hope it to work in connection with a table of content. I guess a great behavior would be if the fixed widget would “know” that the content of the widget relates to the content on the page.

Unfortunately, I don’t see a quick fix for that since the content and the sidebar are technically not related and Fixed Widget can’t know that there is a connection either since it creates neither content nor sidebar.

Please let me know if I am missing something though, or you thought about a different behavior.

Btw., The bottom of the widget is covered by the footer which you should be able to fix with the “Stop ID” option in the plugin settings.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Thanks for the in-depth reply man!

Yes you’re right, I wanted it to somehow know where to stop scrolling and then fix at a certain point again. I was hoping that this would be achievable by a stop ID or some of the settings in the plugin, but understand if not ??

Ok thanks for spotting that, I will sort that out as soon as!
