Hey – Thx for providing Twenty Twenty Four. It’s elegant, less is more. Perfect….

I have a header menu, that since install just adds any page I add. I ended up in a bad situation in twenty twenty three, since coming from the past menu system into blocks.

How do I break the menu and add the content I want in there?
Do I save my menus for easy reuse in other places?

I can see that woo has it’s own header in their templates. Why on earth do they not inherit the themes menu, and can I get thise temps to do that?

This is the only part about wp block themes that is totally non intuitive and impossible to understand, so maybe a thorough tutorial somewhere or some function to force same header everywhere….

    Thx

    Hi there!

Thank you for the great feedback.

If I understood correctly, you want to edit your menu itens as it only adds all pages there by default.

If so, we have this guide here with more details: https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/site-editor-navigation/

Basically, you can access this page and do whatever you want with the navigation.

And this is where things are unclear….

    1. I have duplicated a menu and renamed
    2. I do not have the 3 dots next to menu items that tutorial says I should have https://snipboard.io/ziaPwf.jpg
    3. When I start dragging items it asks me to detach. There is nothing about this in tutorial… https://snipboard.io/E3zoRC.jpg
    4. If I detach, then what? Will I need to add this new menu to anything and everything? Or does WP understand, that this is my new menu?
    5. WooCommerce is still applying thier own menu. Can I get woo to adopt this new menu. I really do not want to go into the menu hell of block themes. I just want ONE menu across my site….

I have added some stuff to my menu. Mini cart and search.

    1. these items will not use full width of the menu. I cannot fint any settings in blocks that delivers. Why is that? https://snipboard.io/DqSYQ1.jpg
    2. The structure of these are Advanced Columns, and I would like one to float left and the other right. How can I accomplish this? I simply cannot find these basic things in block settings? https://snipboard.io/ZHyf6k.jpg

and thx for any help. I really appreciate it

    Hi again,

I do not have the 3 dots next to menu items that tutorial says I should have?https://snipboard.io/ziaPwf.jpg

Have you tried to hover on these items? It only shows this way.

When I start dragging items it asks me to detach. There is nothing about this in tutorial…?https://snipboard.io/E3zoRC.jpg

This only shows when you have the pages synced with the ones published on your site, so you can detach to have the pages in the way you want (instead of added automatically).

WooCommerce is still applying thier own menu. Can I get woo to adopt this new menu. I really do not want to go into the menu hell of block themes. I just want ONE menu across my site….

It should be only one menu. Do you mean that it shows a different menu on WooCommerce pages? Do you have a screenshot of the difference?

    Hey again Felipe

Thx for your reply. Great help….

Before detach there are no 3 dots. After detach there is. So just letting you know this is missing in tutorial, especially for burnt children messing with menus in the early days.

I think I got the menus kind of sorted. Just need content and pages to link to. So far so good.

I am not sure who is designer of social menu… I would say Icons are self explanatory, but I can’t turn off full txt. https://snipboard.io/wNELCb.jpg

    Any ideas?

Woo menu. Actually I think you are right. Menus seem ok across the board. I guess I’m just carrying a ghost around. It shows a lot of work went into the Block Theme design and 99% I just love. I have abandoned all page builders for this project and will “block” only.

I would say the full width and search and mini cart is not obstructing full width. The setting is just not there in Advanced Columns and the Group Block above. So any ideas how to get things manouvered are welcome….

    Thx

TT4 is just so damn beautiful! Patterns and all content is so subtle and illustrative. Theme sort of steps back, to promote the content. As a parent would for her/his child… Awesome work

That’s great, thank you. The team behind the theme always appreciate reviews if you would like to share about your experience: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/twentytwentyfour/reviews/?view=all#new-post

    Thx Felipe

I think Kadence Blocks is designer of Social. Yes I flipped the label, and that did the trick. Thx.

I will beat up TT4 a bit more and get around it all. Then I send a review for sure…

    Thx
