Flag appears on hover

Hey, what map plugin are you using? Have to tried deactivating?

It goes when deactivated so its definitely to do with the plugin.

However, I need a map plugin for one of the pages, and it seems to just suddenly appeared – it wasn’t there when I originally installed the plugin

There are tons of map plugins out there. WP google maps is a good option.

I need one that allows me to do specifically what this one did.

Go into the about–> where? Section and you will see what I’m looking for. Any ideas of alternatives welcome.

If not, can I disable the hover function completely?

I wouldn’t suggest using a plugin that causes issues to other areas of your site. But if you wanna give it anyway you can try pasting this in your custom css in theme options > advanced settings:
