Flags not working with standard twentysixteen theme by Automattic

I’d love to use this plugin and have tried to place the flags in different corners of the site based on the options provided, and seeing 2 issues:
– the location of the flags is far on the edge of the screen, halfway cut out. It makes the plugin un-usable at the moment.
– minor issue, flag #2 shows before flag #1

I was hoping the plugin would include a widget to drag and drop in one of the widget areas. This would solve the problem completely and make the plugin so much better. Tried to insert the PHP code into a plugin area initially as Text, then after installing a PHP plugin widget. The flags did not show.

Any insight greatly appreciated.
