• I am using version 2.0.66.29 of NexGen Gallery and up until a few days ago it was working fine. Now, when SOME people browse to the site (it does not seem to happen to everyone) you get an error message that says: “Slideshows require the Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support.” Then if you wait about 3 – 4 minutes, the slideshow will open. However, I was just testing it on several devices and I just downloaded the lastest version of Firefox on my laptop (Firefox version 32.0.2) and now the page shows that error message and then just shows a grey arrow with a loading circle endlessly spinning (over 6 minutes and counting right now).

Any ideas? The site is: https://www.lisajenningsart.com

    Thanks,

@justduckydesigns – I’m seeing that jQuery is being rendered from the theme, does this happen if you allow NextGEN Gallery to use the version of jQuery bundled with WordPress as it expects to use?

Have you tried temporarily switching to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

Interesting, but it did not work. I tried switching to each of the WordPress Twenty series themes and it did the exact same thing each time – so apparently it is not the theme.

Any other thoughts? Does the plugin creator every post here?

@justduckydesigns – Have you checked for plugin conflicts or caching issues on your site?

PS: The site is loading very slowly as well, might even be some sort of timeout issue that is triggering.

I created this about 8 months ago and it’s been working fine until this past weekend. There have been NO changes made to the site at all. Why would it suddenly stop working correctly?

I just tried checking “No” for the Flash version, and if you click on the site now you will see that it shows the first image (but not centered as it should be) and then it just hangs up for over a minute before it will show the next image.

    Any thoughts?

@justduckydesigns – Artisteer generated themes can cause any number of issues … although to the best of my understanding those generated with recent versions of the software are working much more consistently than older versions.

Why exactly things would just randomly stop without you specifically doing anything to the site I cannot say but that being the case I would recommend contacting your web host to see if they made any changes.

I do suspect that it is a hosting issue, but I wanted to check and see if anyone else had experienced this or if the plugin author had any ideas.

@justduckydesigns – I am seeing a (unrelated) common Artisteer theme issue with the slideshow as well … in most cases you will need to set a fixed height for the container you have inserted the slideshow into (generally equal to the height of the slideshow itself).
