Flash of black on video unload in Chrome

This is a great plugin but in Chrome, when you leave a page with a video or reload that page, a black strip momentarily appears at the top of the video as it unloads.
You can see it on this demo site – https://dev-altitude-pro-video-background.pantheonsite.io/. The video loads fine initially but hit the Altitude logo or refresh the page and the black strip flashes up.
I don’t think it’s a Genesis-related issue.
I found this – https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26220080/remove-black-load-flash-on-html5-video – which seems like a similar issue with Chrome and videos. See the Tim Hayes comment, “I think the black box occurs as the video is unloading. If it is that much of a deal-breaker you could try to hide the video on the page’s beforeunload event.”
Any ideas?
