• The title says it all. I can’t even access the flash uploader to change the setting for the browser upload interface. Firefox 3.0.10 keeps crashing on me.

Using WP 2.7.1 and it all worked fine until I installed the latest Vista Service Pack 2.

    Help, please.

  • Is anybody having the problem with the flash uploader (or html uploader for that matter), where after you upload an image and click INSERT INTO POST the upload window just turns white and nothing is inserted into the post – although the image did get uploaded to the server?

Thanks everyone. BrandiBoyd’s tip to uninstall Gears from the control panel did the trick, thank goodnesss !! It was impossible to work with.
    Thanks everyone for your help.

Thank you, disabling Google Gears did it for me as well.

This problem has been resolved in Firefox 3.0.11, which was released on June 12. Note that the problem was not with Gears or WordPress, but with Firefox.

If you have Firefox set to check for automatic updates, it should have updated by now, you can re-install / re-enable Gears. Otherwise, download and install the update, then enable / reinstall Gears.

There is still something amiss. A few weeks ago, I had the same problem and was able to resolve it be removing Google Gears. Unfortunately, after upgrading to wp2.8, I’m having problems again with the uploader. Now it goes from “crunching” to prompting me to login. The files actually do upload, but they aren’t showing in the media list.

On the other hand, the uploader is working fine in IE. I hate IE, and I really hate the idea of having to go back and forth between the IE and FF just to upload photos.

I really wish someone could solve this flash/FF thing…

I just started with the problem today within firefox only. I fixed it in Firefox by going to Tools Add-ons and disabling Java Quick Starter 1.0. All is fine now.
