    Shipping Class Cost is used to add an additional cost eg. you can give 0 in the Cost to have free shipping, but for a given shipping class, add an additional cost.

    You’re only able to set the shipping cost this way.

    If you want to disable the Flat Rate shipping method for specific products, you’ll want to look at the Conditional Shipping and Payments extentions.

    It will allow you to disable the Flat Rate shipping extension once the right conditions exist.
