Elementor is a page builder plugin that is awesome! However, my page freezes when I try to insert a MLS widget into it. I didn’t find the keyword “elementor” in the forum. Can you help with this?

  • @ron85282,

Which IDX Widget from our plugin are you adding when it freezes? I’m trying to duplicate this on my WordPress testing site using Elementor and so far every widget is applying without an issue. Let me know more info when you can. I’ll be happy to look into this.

    Thanks!

I tried IDX slideshow, listing summary, and 1-click custom search.

Using the Elementor editor the page would become unresponsive. I could only get the widgets to work by going back the the WP editor.

@ron85282 Are any errors occurring on the page or within your browser console when this happens? So far I have been unable to duplicate the problem with the Elementor editor. You’re using the click and drag widgets from under the “WordPress” section of their panel, right?

Yes, I’m using the widgets from the WordPress section of their panel.

I don’t get any error codes. The screen freezes after making one or two display options for the widget. After a minute I get a message saying the screen has “become unresponsive” and asking if I want to “close the page or wait.”

I duplicated the problem several times before switching back to the WordPress editor.

I’m using the recently released “Pro” version with parallax effects.

@ron85282, I’m still trying to duplicate this problem and I have not been able to so far. Does Elementor have a support team? I wonder if they have any troubleshooting tips they could provide for situations like this in their editor. Perhaps toggling certain settings in their plugin?

I would like to add, that I too am having problems with Elementor as well. Below is what I have sent to them, and their response is, that this needs to be addressed to Flex. I have switched off all but the Elementor plugins, and switched to the basic theme as tests.
    ________
Summary: Adding search fields for FlexMLS search plugin does not work
Message: This issue is while trying to edit the FlexMLS IDX Search widget.
While trying to add search options. One thing I notice is the icons do not seem to load properly for the plug in editor (screen shot 1), but the real issue is when when trying to add one of the search field options. The elementor editor reloads and ends up back at the main display, if you will. (See screen shot 2). To make this happen, Select a property type from the dropdown list, and click on the “add Type” button. Using the guentburg editor does work as designed, but kills all the cool stuff for the theme and Elementor options.

UPdate, I have tested the search plugin with Page Builder by SiteOrigin as well and am getting similar results.

I will get in contact with our WP devs to take a look at this. In the meantime it might be best to use Elementor’s short-code block
    when inserting widgets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHOQ5Ge0l5E
    – Use the Classic Editor to generate the Flexmls short-code and then copy/paste it into Elementor

Our plugin is programmed to work for both the Classic and Gutenberg (both default WP editors), it’s not clear why Elementor
is not translating the field functions the same way,

As an FYI, it is not just Elementor that it does not work with. I did test it with at least one other block style editor.
