Hi. I have recently been getting tons of error messages from old posts on my site that I am NOT putting up myself. It appears as though someone else is using SNAP to try and repost our articles somewhere else, but I don’t know how this possible – I have all the standard security settings in SNAP, and my site is locked down very tight – htaccess, external firewall etc. So what could be going on?

Actually, I’m starting to think that it may be trying to auto-post all my old posts, even though I’ve completely disabled this. Can you give me a link to 3.8.6 so I can go back to the previous version? This seems to have started since 3.8.7.

The difference between 3.8.6 and 3.8.7 is updated API for tumblr. The rest is identical.

Please check your Log/History tab and let me know what do you have there.

Yep – tumblr is where it is trying to post (I should have mentioned that).

The error logs show it attempting to post old articles to Tumblr every few minutes. Can I please try 3.8.6?

It will not work at all. Tumblr forced all request to it’s API to v1.2 on August 1st.

SNAP 3.8.6 supports only Tumblr API 1.0 and 1.1.

Can I please see what exactly do you have in the log?

Are you sure auto-reposting is disabled?

3.8.6 continued to work fine after that date for me.

I am certain auto-posting is disabled – this has only started in the last few days and I didn’t change any settings, and I checked on the settings as well.

I can’t post the log here as it’s huge and has sensitive information – can I email it or upload it somewhere?

Please let my try 3.8.6 as well.

Sure you can sent it to support@nextscripts.com

This issue (which actually started in 3.8.6) remains in 4.0.3. I have fixed it by disabling ‘Verify “Featured” Image’, but this wasn’t necessary in 3.8.5 and earlier.
