    Hi there,

    I was wondering if you could help me out. I’m using Polylang as my multilingual plug-in, though this is not so much a conflict between the two I think,.

    The issue I’m facing is (for example) – The home page(s) are all using the same focus keyphrase (the brand name). In my eyes that makes sense, since I believe you generally want the home pages to rank for the brand name keyphrase. However, I’m getting notices saying I’ve used this keyphrase several times before.

    My question is: Shouldn’t the hreflang attributes be “noticable” to the point where the fact that the pages are the same (only in a different language) make these types of notices a moot point?

    EDIT*: I also want to ask the same thing about product pages (be it WooCommerce ones, or on websites which don’t sell directly, but use product pages as showcasing examples).

    I have an example of a website in 3 different languages, all showcasing the same product, with the keyphrase for all examples being the product name.

    @nikhlede We can’t really offer SEO advice as to whether it’s safe to ignore the keyphrase warning in this case, as to be able to say so would require an in-depth review of the site. However, the answer really would depend on the metrics of what users are searching when they access the page. Is it always the brand/product name, and for all language variations? That could be the case, but also seems unlikely. If you aren’t sure, we’d recommend performing some keyword research to find out.     Well, if I was searching for a company, say “Pepsi” in this case, I would always use the search term “pepsi”, regardless of which country I’m from and which language I use.

    The same would apply if I was searching for a specific product, for example “Samsung Galaxy S22”, that product name doesn’t change regardless of where you’re from, you (or me) would always type in “samsung galaxy s22” in the search bar, correct?

    These are my thoughts, anyway. Thank you for the reply and provided links, but I’m afraid that they don’t help me specifically tackle my issue. I’ve read through several articles and posts, but I have yet to find what I’m looking for to help me answer my question, hence why I’m asking for help here.

    I understand your thought line, a brand name is what it is, and that won’t usually be translated.

    The Yoast SEO plugin treats your translated pages as different pages irrespective of the hreflang attribute added by your multilingual plugin (Polylang) to specify the page’s language and/or geographical targeting. This explains why the Yoast SEO content analysis will prompt that you have used a focus keyphrase more than once.

    Moreover, the content analysis tool is a helpful tool that can help you improve your content; these are general guidelines, not strict rules, that will hurt your ranking.
