After updating YoastSEO to version 22.4 yesterday, on the pages and blog posts of my website the “Focus Keyword”, “Content Analysis” and “Readability” options are not showing anymore.

I’ve already checked the user options and YoastSEO options regarding SEO analysis, readability and insights and they’re all correct.

I’ve created a new admin user and it has the same issue.

I’ve created a new editor user and it has the same issue.

I’ve updated all my plugins and I’ve updated WordPress to the latest version.

What can I do to solve the problem? Thanks

    Hi @cleanapp

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin and reporting this issue.

As you have already checked the Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site features page and User profile page and confirmed that the settings are enabled correctly, can you please check the browser console to see if any JavaScript errors are showing when the features are not showing on the Yoast metabox? Also, have you performed a conflict check to determine whether any plugin/theme conflict does not cause it?

We look forward to hearing from you and are happy to help you.

    Hello,
same here at https://www.mmwb.nl. Conflict as of latest version of YSEO with classic theme Weaver Xtreme version 6.4.

    Hope you can help.

    Hi @cleanapp

You mentioned you found conflict between Yoast SEO and classic theme Weaver Xtreme.

Kindly edit the page or post where the “Focus Keyword”, “Content Analysis” and “Readability” options are not showing, and check the browser console to see if any JavaScript errors appear in the console when the features are not showing on the Yoast metabox?

    Hi,

thanks for the support you’re giving me. These are the things I’ve done in the past few days to try to solve the problem:

I’ve searched the browser console for errors and

    • I’ve created a test version of the website through my hosting provider and I’ve deactivated the theme and all the plugins. I’ve set the theme to twenty twenty three and I’ve reactivated YoastSEO as the first pluging and all worked fine.
    • I’ve then reactivated the theme we’are using on the live website and all worked fine.
    • I’ve reactivated all the plugins that were active on the live website, one after the other, to see if there was some conflict with YoastSEO, but YoastSEO features all worked fine even after I reactivated all the plugins.
    • So I decided to make the test version live, substituting it to the actual version of the website, thanks to a tool of the hosting provider.
    • But, once I change the test version with the live one, the problem reappears.

I’ve also checked for JavaScript errors in the browser console, but there are only issues related to third party cookies and form labels/ID.

What can I do at this point to solve the issue?

    Hi,

I’m back with an update. I’ve done another Chrome console check inside the blog page and this error appears.

    Hi ,

all worked fine until April, 2nd before updating to latest version of Yoast.

    Hey,

After I purged cache (LSC) again from within the editor issue is gone (???)

    Hi @mmwbadmin and @cleanapp

The issue you have noticed is that the scripts on your website are loading from a old cached versions, and the latest version, which is added on version 22.4, is not yet loading on the edit screens. So, as the plugin files cannot see these scripts (JS files), the settings are not loading. This odd behavior occurs when your website or another plugin or some code you have added on your website removes the version that loads at the end of the script files, and the cache system won’t get information that the file has been updated on the server.

So, clearing the website’s cache fully for the scripts will help the cache to get burst, the new script files will load correctly, and the settings will be loaded after that.

    Hi @josevarghese

Thank you for the precious insight! Now the cause of the problem is clear. I have just one more question.

Which tool (plugin, software) can I use to “clear the website’s cache fully for the scripts”?

Because at the moment I use WP Rocket to clear the website’s cache but it doesn’t solve the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @cleanapp

Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know.

If you use WP Rocket and Cloudflare on your website, we recommend enabling their integration, as mentioned here. Also, we would recommend you make sure that the version number of the scripts are loaded on the source code. If the version number of the scripts is loading as expected, the cache will burst when you clear the cache. Otherwise, as you have noticed, the issue would occur after plugin updates as the cache didn’t bursted and previously cached scripts are loading.

If the script’s version numbers are not showing, we recommend performing a conflict check to find out which plugin or theme is causing this. Otherwise, reach out to the respective caching plugin to check whether they have any settings to flush the scripts.

For your site’s health and safety, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database. This is especially important before installing, updating, or removing plugins. Learn more about?the benefits of regular backups.
