    Hi!

I have understood that a focus keyword (phrase) should only be used for one post only. But I wonder what happens if I use some of the words in a keyword phrase in another? Like for example if my keyword for one blog post would be ‘The best anti aging food’, and for another blog post ‘My number one anti aging serum’, then ‘anti aging’ is included in both so could that be a problem? Could ‘anti aging’ be considered a keyword itself for google and then cause my blog posts to compete with each other?

    Best regards
    Ann

  • Yes, it is considered a keyword itself but there’s no problem with that. Although both posts may be competing for the keywords “anti aging”, it shouldn’t be a problem in your case as you’re trying to rank for “The best anti aging food” and “My number one anti aging serum” separately. We always recommend doing away with using very generic keywords. “Anti aging” is very generic and your competition to rank for this keyword is very high already so it’s good that you’ve used long-tail keywords.
