    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me here. I am going to use this module to, in essence, show past events, not upcoming ones.

I finally got the past events to display on the front page, so I figured that out. But, when browsing the categories, it is still telling me “no events” when I do have a past event in that category.

    1) How can I make past events show in the category pages (and not just the home Events page?

    2) Is there a way to NOT require a full address? I was hoping I could just put a city/state as most will not have a specific address in my database, but rather, just a city. Is this possible?

    3) Is there any map widget or page for this, that will show all events on a map that are in the database?

    Thank you so much!

Maybe there is another Events module that is more fitting to my needs, which I am open to.

In short, I am repurposing the events module and building a case file database of events in the past. It requires a location (not an exact address, however) and the ability to add photos and videos. I would love a page that shows a map of all cases in the database. It is planned to have thousands of different cases around the world.

I am open to other modules… and here is an example of what I’ve built, but am getting away from the CMS I am using now: https://www.theblackvault.com/m/events/home/

    Hi,

1 – You can do this using the events_list shortcode with a scope attribute. Something like this:

    [events_list scope="past"]

2 – Are you using Google Maps? That would require a full address to work.

3 – Yes, you can use the [locations_map] shortcode:

Hello and thank you for responding!

In regards to Google Maps, the module I am using now, with a different CMS system, allows for just a city and state… and it puts the arrow in the middle of the city. Is there any way to do that with this? Most of what I want to repurpose this for, will not have an exact address, but rather, just a city (or sometimes even just a state)

Sorry, a precise address is required for Events Manager.

Is there any other module I may be able to use, that does not require the full address? It has to be possible, since the script I am using now for a different CMS does it — so it isn’t impossible.

I am willing to pay for modifications?

It might be possible to combine Events Manager with a Google Maps plugin, but I can’t give a particular recommendation.
