I have these entries in the “Directory exclusions for the malware scanner:”

    /wp-content/plugins/mywpguru/
    /wp-content/themes/dt-the7/inc/extensions/

    However, it is not working.

These files may not contain malicious code but they use very dangerous PHP functions and constructions! PHP developers don’t recommend to use such code. Besides, it looks very suspicious.
    Failed files: 1
    Path Modify time MD5 HashPlugin

    /wp-content/themes/dt-the7/inc/extensions/core-functions.php

Now as I understand it, any file inside the “/wp-content/themes/dt-the7/inc/extensions/” folder should be completely ignored by the Malware Scanner.

So why am I getting a warning on this at all?

    Hello @lukedouglas.

Please delete the first and last “/” and save the settings. Exclusions should work.

We will think about improving the interpretation of the entered values.

I have changed the settings to:

    wp-content/plugins/mywpguru
    wp-content/themes/dt-the7/inc/extensions

But, to be honest, the plug-in should recognize if there is a leading or trailing ‘/’ and either give a warning or just remove them programmatically or, at the very least, have this clearly explain on the General Settings tab.

    Hello LukeDouglas.

We have added a mechanism to the plugin to handle different slashes, including leading and trailing.

All the changes made will be included in the next official release.

If you want you can install the fix-version of the plugin.
Go to WordPress Administrator Panel → Plugins.
Find the “Security by CleanTalk” plugin → Deactivate, then Delete.
Download the plugin archive from here: https://github.com/CleanTalk/security-malware-firewall/releases/download/fix-version/security-malware-firewall.zip.
Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.
