Folder Readonly even if permissions OK

  • Hi all, after 5.5 update, a lot of problems, I requested to my hoster a recover from a dump, but now I cannot write in any site folder, so I can’t install JQuery Migrate Helper. Can I solve this problem without having access to the server’s backend console?

    If the folder is read only, then its permissions are not OK. WP needs to have its folders writable to function properly. You don’t need the server’s terminal to fix this, but you do need adequate FTP access or access to the hosting account’s file manager to correct folder permissions. Usually permission 755 is adequate, though in unusual cases you may need 775.
