This plugin would be perfect, just a simple way to folderize (not a word) photos, because it can be a pain to search through all photos in WP when posting, as we all know.

However, when I click the Add Media button, there is no way to see those folders. I get exactly the same thing as without the plugin, meaning I see every single photo and still have to search. Am I missing something? Without that functionality for creating a post with an image it is meaningless to create folders for them.

I should note that they show in the really annoying Gutenberg block editor, but not in the Classic Editor, running WP 5.1

  • Agreed. I can’t get the firebird folders to show in the add media on either the legacy editor or the Gutenberg editor. I just spent $25 on this thinking the folders would come in handy when inserting media and galleries. So bummed.

How were you able to see the folders in the Gutenberg editor?

Media folders should be core in WordPress. I don’t understand why they aren’t. For any plugin that creates media folders, those folders should be visible from any point of access.

I was able to see it in the horrible Gutenberg. Even tried writing a post before giving up in disgust. But, did see the drop down.

Enhanced Media Library does work for this, which I will use if Filebird won’t. Filebird seems a lot easier, though, and would prefer. Wonder if it is a compatibility issue with the Classic Editor Plugin?

I cannot submit a ticket because I haven’t purchased it, and I won’t purchase unless I know it works the way it should.

    Hi @william-teach ,

This is Classic Editor, do you mean like this? https://take.ms/2w6ez

No, I do not see that third dropdown with categories at all.

Mostly, though a few of the buttons above the add media button in your video are not there. I am using the official Classic Editor. When you click the add media button, the “all categories” dropdown does not appear.

oh sad, what why I got a 1-star rating from robynlingen. (It’s working on my side)

@robynlingen You have purchased Pro version so please submit a ticket to get support, we will help you fix it fast.

@william-teach I want to help you check it but WordPress staff doesn’t allow me to ask users for admin login. In this case, please let me know what your device and browser you are using, I will make a test.

I’ve tried it in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, latest versions. I have it enabled on both my development site and main WordPress site. Haven’t tried it using the WordPress app for Android on either phone or tablet. Also, browser for Android does not show the extra box.

I took a screenshot. The pinup is in a folder created with Filebird.

Good day. The update worked. The plugin is doing what it is supposed to do in both my testing site and my main blog. Kudos! This is going to help a lot, since there are some photos I reuse a lot and some are one shots.

I’m going to see how it works for a bit, then I expect to buy the full version.

    Thank you! Well done!
