Font-awesome

Hi,

SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle uses Font Awesome 5.15.1 while your theme uses Font Awesome 4.8. This means that the version we use is much newer and more overall options. Removing the theme version of Font Awesome is safer as removing it shouldn’t result in any major issues if the theme is slightly changed to use our version of Font Awesome (this is just a case of changing the font family). Removing our version will disable a large portion of the selectable icons (what icons really depends on what you’re using). I recommend reaching out to the developers of your theme for advice on dequeuing their Font Awesome.

Please note that the stylesheets mentioned aren’t all related to Font Awesome. Here’s a grouped list of the stylesheets and what they’re related too:

When you do enable Cloudflare, I recommend looking at minifying your assets as this will cut down on the number of overall requests.

In this case, do I need to worry about this?

Cloudflare won’t stop the loading of any of the URLs you mentioned as they’re all different.

Hi Alex!

Thank you for the quite clear answer! Without a doubt I will stay with siteorigin font-awesome. I asked the developers of my theme for advice on dequeuing their Font Awesome, but didn’t got an answer yet. Will ask again.
In the event that I don’t get an answer, can you point me to some articles on how to do it? I have a local installation for testing things before changing the live site and I’m willing to learn, even if it takes time.

Unfortunately, that’s a bit outside of our scope of support, but I can provide you with some general direction. You can remove a script by using wp_dequeue_script. A performance plugin you’re using may also be able to do this so I would check any settings of any performance plugins you’re using to see if it’s possible to prevent the output of an asset.
