In my review I stated NextGen getting bloated. Appears this helps to reiterate my point. I just noticed it trying to load javascript from Font Awesome. Maybe a lot of script kiddies like it, but I sure don’t. I NEED THIS DISABLED as I don’t use it nor care for the extra added bloat! I don’t need to modify any other part of my website to disable this when plugin people think it’s cute to just add extra bloat from other parties

    Hi @freedombuilders,

Thanks for your suggestion but at the moment this wouldn’t be possible as NextGen relies on FontAwesome’s icons and respectively by dequeuing it, those icons wouldn’t be available anymore and this would surely generate a bigger issue with inability of finding a good part of the plugin’s UI.

I will mark it as a feature request for our developers so they could revise it and maybe load FontAwesome locally instead of using the web based version.

That would be a smart move @mihaiimagely & thank you for the response. I can see where it’s used on the backend, but nowhere in the front end or at least by my settings. Nevertheless javascript loads from fontawesome on respective pages NextGen is associated on the front end. Nearly doubles mobile load time despite caching. Perhaps developers need to think things all the way through before they add anymore bloat
