Font Awesome & web font questions
-
The more I learn about this theme the more I am appreciating this theme and know I will like it even more when I have a better understanding of how to implement more customization!
— I am having trouble figuring out how to access the styling that will change the color and size for the Font Awesome icons at the top of the posts. The pencil, comment and quote located on this page https://www.urbankhutchinsconstruction.com/dev/testimonials/ are good examples. This may change by the time you see it, but my latest attempt is this line in the CSS
i .fa fa-pencil {color: #e6e6e6;}
— Also, I have reviewed the threads regarding importing/changing the Google font and it seems like each one holds a different piece of the puzzle. While she decides what she wants I am using the Easy Google Fonts plugin which forces an override. I would prefer to change the styles and functions.php for best practice and performance. The site where I am trying to sort this out is https://dev.stuffadjust.com/ At this point I have substituted Sorts Mill Goudy for Arvo in the functions.php. Where to use hyphens, underscores and uppercase was guesswork. In the CSS I have substituted the font for h3, h4 and h6 (she is deciding which headers to part with). I am not sure if this will show with the override in place. If you could take a look and see if you can spot anything I have missed it would be awesome.
I suspect there are others who would appreciate more of a step-by-step addressing which files you need to change. I initially looked at Font Squirrel but wasn’t confident about trying to introduce a different model.
Thank you!
