What’s the easiest way to change the font style for Simple Lightbox? I’ve looked over some of the other support threads regarding this, but they’re WAY over my head. I have no real experience with HTML or CSS. Motion graphics and 3D animation are my thing.

The existing Dark or Light theme would probably work for me, but I don’t like the Yanone Kaffeesatz Regular font. Can I replace that with a font of my choosing? If so, what all would I have to change in that code? I’m seeing 4-5 items that appear to relate to fonts under the default theme.

It took a fair amount of poking around for me to find where you edit plugins in WordPress. I did download and install the Custom Theme Example and can see it as a plugin, but I have NO idea where I’d begin to create something. Modifying some existing code is probably my best bet.

I’ve spent days searching for a Lightbox plugin that gives me a nice clean caption that lives right under my image but DOES NOT cover up part of that image. Simple Lightbox is the best I’ve found, but I don’t have the skills to code up a custom look from scratch.

(Note that the page I’ve linked to hasn’t been styled at all. I’m using an Elementor Pro gallery widget for my images. One other thing I’ve noticed is when you click on the first image in the gallery the Elementor Pro lightbox appears behind the Simple Lightbox but goes away when you advance the slideshow, despite the Elementor lightbox being switched off.)

    Thanks!

Hi, the tutorials in SLB’s Themes documentation provide step-by-step instructions on customizing all key aspects of a lightbox theme, including create a custom theme that is based of an existing theme (e.g. SLB’s built-in Dark or Light themes). This is the recommended starting point for gaining an understanding of customizing a theme.

That said, lightbox themes are built with HTML and CSS, so some knowledge of these is recommended for customizing a theme. In terms of customizing the font, here are a few tutorials on using the @font-face CSS rule that may help:

Just a quick note: Editing plugins directly is not recommended, as any modifications will be overwritten when a plugin is updated.
