    Hey Patrick,

FA 5 is only supported currently in the 3.0.0-beta1 release of this plugin.

If you choose to test the beta, you can set the major-version of FA from 4.x to 5.x in the new FontAwesome Settings screen (under the Custom Fields parent menu in admin).

If you do become a tester, please share your experiences here.

    Thanks,

    Matt Keys

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for clearing that up. Very much appreciated.
While I am not shy of beta testing things, for a production website beta versions can be a risk. i’ll see what we can do in the meantime.

We could ofcourse just test how things work on the dev enviroment and move on from there.

    Kind regards,
    Patrick Dankers

The beta version seems to be working well with FA 5.x, great work! I do have a Font Awesome Pro account and am curious if you plan to integrate a “pro” feature in the future. Thanks again for your excellent work!

    Best,

    Chris

I have FA 5 Pro and the CDN requires you to assign a domain for every use. What you should do is allow the user to select an option in settings to use the website’s copy of FA 5 Pro (just like you can use a website’s version of jQuery). This would allow users who have Pro to benefit from it.

Thanks for the feedback aibrean, this is also my preferred method of implementation.

I have been going back and forth with the FontAwesome team over the past week or two trying to sort out the details. This plugin needs a manifest of all available pro icons which is currently only distributed through zip downloads or the private GitHub repository. I am hoping that they will be willing/able to make this manifest available through CDN so that it can be read by this plugin.

Anyone interested in FA 5 Pro icon support, please checkout the new beta (beta2), and let me know how it goes!

Great work Matt! I will test it out on my next project. Would you prefer feedback for the beta version in the plugin support area?

Making a new topic here in the forum support for beta issues is fine with me. It was my original intention to just have one thread that stays open to collect feedback but it seems the moderators periodically close those threads.
