    Hi Daan,

I wanted to use your great plugin with my site (uses careerfy theme) but while it detects the fonts, it doesn’t seem to actually swapping them and shows system fonts only.

Any idea what can be done about this ?

    Many thanks.

PS I will send the link to the website on your contact form.

It seems to be related to my caching plugin wpfastest cache. I’d rather not disable any more options but it seems if I disabled it completely it works well. I’ll selectively disable some options and see what happens.

    Hi!

I’ve viewed the site, and it indeed seems to be related to caching. Have you tried flushing the plugins’ cache? And if so, maybe try emptying the wp-contents/cache directory manually? Sometimes a cache flush fails and manually emptying it will make it behave properly again.

Let me know how it goes!

So I had to turn off :

Combine CSS: Reduce HTTP requests through combined css files

To make it work. Unfortunately this does add about a whole second to my site loading. I was able to negate this though by enabling these 2 options in autooptimize:

    Optimize CSS Code

    Aggregate CSS-files??

    Aggregate all linked CSS-files?

    Have you read my reply?

It’s probably due to cached CSS files. If you empty it, OMGF’s changes will be processed into the newly generated CSS files.

Yes. I emptied the cache dir by using the wpfastest cache option (so not manually, not sure if I safely can delete everything in /var/www/html/wp-contents/cache/* ?)

I did not make a change from what I remember but now I have turned back on the combine css option in wpfastest cache and now it works..now idea what happened here but I guess it must be some stuck cache as you suggested.

Update: I know why it works, because it still seems to load google fonts..argh. What is going on here. Stuck in cache hell ??

Ok so the situation is currently:

    I have:

    •  careerfy-google-fonts (stored in wp-content/uploads/omgf/careerfy-google-fonts) Configure
    •  omgf-stylesheet-92 (stored in wp-content/uploads/omgf/omgf-stylesheet-92) Configure
    •  rs-roboto (stored in wp-content/uploads/omgf/rs-roboto) Configure
    •  google-fonts-417 (stored in wp-content/uploads/omgf/google-fonts-417) Configure

    Detected fonts.

    Elementor/Divi compatibility checkbox turned on.

    Wpfastest cache is disabled.

If I am logged in, it loads all fonts from my website with the exception of one to fonts.gstatic.com. So I’m guessing it needs one more it hasn’t detected yet. How long does it take usually to find all the fonts on the website?

If I log out, those fonts are again loaded from fonts.gstatic.com (in web inspector they should as up from memory, as opposed to disk). Which is weird to me.

I even invalidated the cache on cloud front, nothing changes.

Getting frustrated here, I must be doing something wrong but I can’t figure it out.

Frustration doesn’t solve anything ?? step away from it.

I don’t have time to look into it now. Have to pick up my kids from daycare, but I’ll get back to you tomorrow first thing!

    Hi again,

Had a free moment so decided to look into it.

The remaining Google Fonts are loaded by Google ReCaptcha. Since these are loaded in an iframe (i.e. from another server) there’s no way to intercept them and load these fonts locally. You can read more about this in OMGF (Pro)’s documentation.

On the bright side, OMGF’s doing what it should do and the cache flush fixed it. All you need to do now is deal with ReCaptcha. Suggestions are in the above link.

    Hi Daan,

I send in a comment through email but it didn’t seem to make it here!

    So currently I have disabled:

    WPfastestcache

    Autooptimize

    Assetcleaner

    Deleted /var/www/html/wp-content/cache

When in dev mode and cleaned the cache

Removed all content from the website (data, cookies etc) in the browser

And still it loads only 3 fonts via my own website (see https://imgur.com/uxqDVR1), and 4 that it still connects to fonts.gstatic.com for (see https://imgur.com/pl9ZS8J)

It has detected 4 fonts in total, maybe it needs to look deeper? Would the pro version option help with this ? (see https://imgur.com/QxF3onh)

So I’m not sure what is going on here. Is it not finding all the fonts ? I don’t care about TTF or font awesome, but the WOFF files it should host locally. As you say I can use Complianz for the other stuff, but the woff files I need to host locally.

    Appreciate your help.

The screenshot you sent me, says it detected 4 stylesheets. Stylesheets can contain multiple fonts. Can you share a screenshot of the Optimize Fonts section (further down that page)?

    Thread Starter atvrequis

    (@atvrequis)

Yup (PS it has 2 pics 1/2) showing the whole screenshot).

Circling back to this and noticed that OMGF is currently disabled. When you’re ready to further investigate this, let me know!
