We’re using two fonts through Google Fonts for WordPress, but whenever the plugin needs updating the fonts default to the theme fonts. Even with plugins updating automatically there is sometimes a lull. Is there something we should be doing to make sure there’s no downtime? We also set up the Host Google Fonts Locally plugin but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

    Hi @slim4bay,

Are the settings reverting to the defaults or is it just the frontend display?

Just the front-end display. The changes were made in the “Additional CSS” area of admin.

We’ve not seen that before, how long is the delay usually?

I don’t know because I don’t check in with that site very often. I have seen it, gone in and updated the plugin, and the problem goes away. The client for whom I created the site just noticed it the other day, but by the time I had gone to look the fonts had reinstated themselves. I assume because the plugin updated.
So I’m just wondering if there is a way to make sure the fonts load every time – should I have also put something in the header or something?

There were some code errors in previous versions that may have caused that. I believe they are fixed now, but please let me know if you experience this again please let me know.

Thank you. And thank you for responding! I have opened four tickets in the last week, and yours is the only one that’s been answered.
