• I’ve been having a really odd problem with this plugin… I set the font of my paragraphs to ‘Open Sans’. This shows up okay on my desktop (with the latest version of Chrome), but not on my laptop (also with the latest version of Chrome). On my laptop it defaults to a serif font, which looks pretty awful.

I’m confused as to why this would be the case, especially as Google Fonts are supposedly loaded server side? So there should not be an issue with whether they are downloaded on a particular computer.

My website is at https://kiwifoodie.co.nz . I got an API key and input it into the settings page after reading some other threads here, but it didn’t make a difference.

    Hi Melange,
This is very odd, google fonts are loaded server side so you shouldn’t be experiencing this issue. Have you tried clearing your browser cache on your laptop and trying again?

I just tried clearing my cache, doesn’t solve the problem. Also, even on the typography preview screen in Appearance, the font shows up as a serif font currently (though it didn’t when I first set it to Open Sans). Two changes I made in that time was changing my theme, and editing the CSS for some selectors (though I still chose Open Sans there).

Viewing my site through Firebug’s ‘inspect element’ ability, it does say that ‘Open Sans’ is the font for the p element.

    Hi Melange,
I’ve checked your website on 3 different laptops (1 mac and 2 windows) and it seems to work fine. Have you checked any other laptops? Are you using a windows or a mac laptop?
