It was just an intentional choice by the theme’s designer. In short, they liked it that way, and so do many of the folks using this theme.
If you don’t like it, it can be adjusted via CSS, a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/options-for-twenty-twenty-one/ , or you could just choose a different theme: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/
