I’ve got a website that I’m working on for a nonprofit group that I’m working with. I built the site originally using the latest version of WordPress (and updating it every time a new one comes out), using the Astra theme and originally Elementor. One thing that one of my colleagues noticed while testing a couple of weeks ago is that the font was too small on a computer. I noticed it as well when I went back to look (not sure why I ignored it at first), so over the last couple of days, I rebuilt the website from scratch – removed all plugins, removed the theme, etc. I decided that perhaps it was a problem with Elementor, so I rebuilt it without using Elementor. It looked fine, fonts were where I wanted them. This morning I started to add back in a course that’s supposed to be hosted on the site, and the same thing happened – the font reverted to something that wasn’t what I intended (basically, it looks like the font you’d use on a cellphone – a sans serif smaller font – even when viewing on a PC). The entire site ended up being switched to that font, not just the courses. It went back to normal after I deactivated and deleted the Masteriyo plugin.

Now, I’ve been a programmer for many years (over 25 years in development and two degrees in it), but I’m not going to try to debug this for you. Is it possible that the Masteriyo plugin isn’t compatible with the Astra theme? I know it’s not Elementor as I rebuilt the site without using Elementor.

Here are some vitals that may help – Bluehost hosting, latest version of WordPress, latest version of the Astra theme, built the site using their Outdoor Adventure starter site, other plugins are WP Forms lite, Sassy Social Share (I have to use that as they include social media that other free plugins don’t), and AcyMailing for newsletters.

We have to launch June 1st, so I won’t be waiting for a fix, I’m going to try different education course plugins to make sure I can launch correctly. My only other alternative would be to host the course on a different site and link to it from this site, but that’s not a good option at the moment due to budgetary concerns. For what it’s worth, we’re using the free versions of everything including Masteriyo at the moment. After the budget improves, perhaps we can go to the Pro versions.

Shame, as I liked how Masteriyo worked. Hopefully you can check into this.

Awesome, thanks! I won’t be using it on my live site, as I went with another LMS plugin and it’s too late to change it now, but I have a prototype/staging site that still has your plugin installed. I’ll test it there.

Just updated your plugin on my prototype site and checked it, it works beautifully! Thank you for getting back to me on this. I may not be able to use your plugin on the site launching soon, but I’ll definitely be using it in the future on other sites. Thanks!
