    Hi,

I started creating a blog, I’m new to WordPress.
I’m using the Read More (free) theme, and created some content to practice.

What I see happening is that FooBox, although installed and activated, does not work with images in my posts. I tried adding the “foobox” CSS class to an image in hope this would fix it, but it didn’t.

Can somebody please help me out?

    Cheers!

  • Hi @mentorship4u,

FooBox automatically opens images that are linked to a larger image. So the thing you need to do is edit each image in your page and then add a link to the full size version of each image.

That way when visitors to your site click on the image it will open the full sized version of the image in FooBox image lightbox.

Would you please give that a try and let me know how you get on?

    Hi @phillcoxon,

It worked! Thank you very much.
Looking at the documentation now I understand what this means:

Gutenberg Editor – images within gallery and image blocks will open in FooBox (set Linked To -> “Media File”

      ).

Looks like mew “newbieness” to WordPress caused this lack of understanding of what’s being said to me.

      Thank you again! Cheers!

    Hi @mentorship4u,

You’re welcome and great work getting it solved so fast.

    Hi,
I have the same issue. And don’t understand what you mean.
Do you mean I have to create a new version(thumbnail) of my original image and add the link to the original size image?

    Thank you

    Hi @katoakira00

Are you using the Gutenberg Editor/WP Bakery Page Builder? If so, follow these steps to enable your images to open up on the FooBox lightbox when clicked.

Once you’ve opened that page using the Gutenberg Editor/WP Bakery Page Builder to edit it, click on the edit icon on the block that the image is in. In my case, my image was in a text block and so I clicked on the “Edit Text Block” option as shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/PFpWSJ

Once you’re in the edit section, click on the image, and you’ll see an “Edit” icon appear as shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/qn4HbK . Click on the “Edit” icon and an “Image details” section will pop up as shown on this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/07IYcB

On the Image details sections, you’ll see the “Link to” option. Click on the “Media file” option to link that image to itself. After that hit on the update and save changes buttons to save all the changes made.

The image will now be opened by FooBox when clicked. Try this out and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
    Elvis.
