I’m using Elementor Pro page builder to set up my pages.

Foobox in combination with Elementor works fine for single images and WP galleries.

However I do not succeed to group several images with rel=”gallery”. What I did with images that are included with the Elementor Image Widget:
    – the link of the image is set to “media file”
    – in the advance tab the CSS Classes is set to “foobox”
    – in the Custom Attributes I added “rel|gallery”

Result is that the attribute rel=”gallery” shows up in the enclosing <div> but not in the a-tag. Each image opens in foobox but they are not grouped in a gallery.

Does anybody know who to set up properly the Elementor image widget?

  • Hi @mattki,

Sorry you haven’t had a response until now.

Is this still an issue for you?

I believe that you’ve already identified the issue – the custom attributes will apply to the Elementor Image Widget div and not to any a links within that div.

There’s no easy way to get around this.

If you are using FooBox Pro there is a setting called “Specific CSS Classes” which allows you to target a specific container element. In your case you could set that setting to .egallery (or whatever you want to call it) and then add ‘egallery’ as a class in the Elementor Image Widget. This should allow you to get this working without having to add rel attributes to each image.

Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
