I am a newbie attempting to migrate from NextGen Gallery to FooGallery, but am having issues. Here’s the background story:

    Website: https://www.benttwigquilts.com
(gallery error shows up on https://www.benttwigquilts.com/gallery/recent-work/ page)
    Wordpress 4.9.2
FooGallery version 1.4.15, with Albums plugin extension installed

The “Gallery” menu tab on my website brings up two submenus: “Recent Work” and “Archives.” Under “Archives” are several items, each of which is a FooGallery album.
The icons for the galleries contained in each album appear on the screen, but when I click on them I get “404 – Fancy meeting you here!” message.

The galleries were imported from NextGen. I have connected some of them to their proper pages and am using those for testing purposes.

In the FooGallery display, under the “Usage” column, most of them show “Not used!” even though those were imported from NextGen. I did manually create a few new galleries, but those will not load either.

I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins, but that does not help.
I’ve searched the help information on this forum, but have not found any relevant information.

I hope someone out there can help me! Thanks!

Here’s an update on my “404” error that I posted earlier today…

I found (after hours of trial and error) that Albums DO NOT WORK if the Album Template is set to “Responsive Album,” but they DO work correctly if the template is set to “All-in-One Stack Album.”

I upgraded from the free version to the $49 Pro version this afternoon, hoping that the bug might be fixed by throwing money at it; I was wrong. Also, there does not appear to be any additional tech support, either, other than this forum.

I would appreciate any suggestions for fixing this problem; I would really like to take full advantage of the features that should be available.

    Thanks!

Following, as I’ve always had this exact same issue.

I have the same issue. After updating WordPress to the latest version the responsive album breaks the viewing pages. They return 404 errors since the update.
When selecting the all-in-one-stack template it works.

Edit: I found add that switching from Pretty to Query-string at the gallery link format fixes the issue.

Edit: I found add that switching from Pretty to Query-string at the gallery link format fixes the issue.

    How do I do this?

    Query String select in
ALBUMS -> drop DOWN page in Options
    URL SETTINGS
    Gallery Link Format
    You may select option:
    ‘Querystring e.g. /page-with-album?galeria=some-gallery’

I have the same issue. May I know how to get access to the Query String in the wordpress dashboard?

    Hey guys,

When using albums, and using the responsive album template, by default it uses a gallery slug for the gallery pages, eg. https://www.mysite.com/album/gallery/test-gallery

The “gallery” in the URL will only work if there are no other pages created with that same slug. When another page exists with the “gallery” slug, then visiting album/gallery/gallery-1 will result in a 404 as WP tries to look for an actual page which does not exist.

    So there are 2 solutions:

    1. Change the “Gallery Link Format” setting to querystring. This can be done when you edit the album, scroll down to the URL settings.

    or

    2. Change the gallery slug to something other than “gallery” e.g. “gal” or “gallery-view”. This can be done from the FooGallery -> Settings -> Albums tab

Yes, changing the link format to querystring works, but it generates an ugly URL.

Changing the slug to anything else does not take care of the 404. In fact, there is no other page named “gallery” on my site, so it’s not a conflict that I generated. The 404 issue came out of the blue after upgrading WP.

I can confirm this. There is a 404 Error when the responsive Album is selected and the query link is set to Pretty. As @bitterer said, the use of another page with the same name is NOT the issue.
Will this be taken care of? It’s an obvious and quite annoying bug.
    Thanks very much!
    Regards
    Anja
