I have the Thirsty affiliate for Foo gallery plugin to be able to have my image galleries open as affiliate links. I created the galleries and added the affiliate links in the space provided while creating my galleries but when I click the images in my post it doesn’t open the affiliate link, it just opens as a larger image. I’ve had to go and add links to the items under the gallery which I don’t think is allowed by Amazon so I need to figure how to get my gallery working properly.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @thriftedandtaylord

To link images with URL, go to wordpressadmin->foogallery->galleries, edit the gallery you want then navigate to gallerysettings->general. You can then enable the Custom URL feature as shown in the link at https://monosnap.com/file/UYsRk9yBmH0FXf0vPwZN2NDYRTqrUF.

However, for the images added to the gallery, you can click the icon to access the image setting as shown in the link at https://monosnap.com/file/l7Dcv5OOiGlrpO89dTMJ9RhUAiOgSr.

You can then add URL at the custom URL and select a custom target to open the image in new tab or the same tab in the image settings as shown in the link: https://monosnap.com/file/nssjYyHKUo0XPVvC0alKCArcYTvtX0.

Lastly, on the “Lightbox” option on the General tab, don’t forget to select none as shown in the image below: https://monosnap.com/file/YvdjHM9Xim1fnCsJaibfETXkhRcB4q

    Hi Elvis,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I currently am using a masonry image gallery, and under the thumb link setting, I have it on affiliate link. I do have the affiliate url listed in the image settings and to open in new tab already. I also have the affiliate link on my “manage gallery” images in the affiliate link space provided. The only thing I don’t have is my lightbox option is not set on none. But when I went and changed the Lightbox setting to none, nothing changed on the post. Is it because I am using a masonry gallery?

    Hi @thriftedandtaylord

I have just created a demo gallery on my staging site using the Masonry Image Gallery using the guide I shared with you on my initial message and it works perfectly.

Kindly clarify to me what you mean by the following statement: “…I also have the affiliate link on my “manage gallery” images in the affiliate link space provided…”. Could you kindly take a screenshot of that particular setting/configuration and share it with me? The screenshot will be enough to explain to me what you meant.

You can use one of the many screenshot and sharing web apps such as Monosnap that are freely available for that.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

    Hi

@influxfooplugins There is a third party extension in use here called thirsty affiliate FooGallery extension.
That extension has not been updated in 6 years and is probably no longer maintained by the developer (not fooplugins). My guess is that it is causing the issues here.

@thriftedandtaylord I would suggest you deactivate the extension and use the built in route as Elvis explained.

    Hello,

Thank you both for your help, it was indeed the Thirsty Affiliate plugin that was not working, I followed both your guidance and the issue is resolved.
