    Hello,

    I really like this gallery.
Not sure if this is a gallery problem or may be a generic WP problem.
But when I have 112 photo’s with a total size of 21mb, when I create a gallery it will create several versions of the pictures.
At the end it took 140mb of disk space.

Do I something wrong or is this intended behaviour?

Did a quick test with Envira and it is doing similar things.

Anyone an idea how to show my pictures without consuming a lot of diskspace?

    Thanks!

  • WordPress creates multiple images sizes by default. Themes and plugins can also define specific sizes, and all these together can quickly add up.

There are ways to limit the images sizes in WordPress and also some great plugins for regenerating thumbnails after you’ve made media size changes as well as plugins for optimizing your image sizes upon upload.

This is a great article to start with and covers several areas I mentioned above.
