FooGallery page showing blank except menu bar

  • I installed FooGallery yesterday and tested everything on a test site and it all appeared to work fine.

    The page I have inserted the foogallery shortcode, however no longer shows, I only get the top menu bar but no other text on the page. https://bvs-education.co.uk/british-schools-fairs/

    hi there

    I had a look at your page. It seems that the page has never finished rendering, almost like there was a server error and WP halted processing the rest of the page. Can you try deactivating all plugins except FooGallery to see if you still have the issue? If not, then activate your plugins one at a time, until you find the conflicting plugin.

    Please post your findings.

    Maybe there is a conflict with the theme?
    Can you try changing to a default theme to see if you still have the problem?

    Hi, I did this on a test site and it did work. Does this mean I cannot use this plugin with this theme?

    It seems there is a conflict – I have a copy of Divi so I will test it on my side. What version of Divi are you running?

    I think its similar to the guy who said over 18 images dont show, but do show the first time you clear the thumbnail cache. Mine shows 7 of the gallery images after clearing the cache but still doesn’t show the other text that should be on the page, thanks

    I just activated Divi and it worked perfectly – which sort of sucks as I was hoping to get an immediate problem because then I could reproduce your issue.

    Next step I suppose is to try and use the same settings as you have. Do you know if Divi has an import / export option?

    Another thing to try – install the latest develop branch of foogallery. That is what I did my testing with and could be the reason it works for me and not you.

    Hi, I’e tried that and again it only loads the images the first time. Could it be down to the host provider as that is the only other thing that is different in my test site. It is painfully slow when I try and work with the gallery on the bvs-education site but fine on my test one. BVS-education is hosted with 1&1

    Hi just in case you look at it over the weekend I have changed it back to the old format without using the FooGallery plugin. If you find the fix that would be great as ideally we want the images to link to the individual schools, thanks hope you have/had a good weekend

    There could be a conflict with your host and the way thumbs are generated behind the scenes with FooGallery. I think I am going to build in a way to test the thumb generation somehow and report an issue back to the user.

    In the meantime, you can check if the thumbs are being created correctly, by editing a gallery that uses the default Responsive Image Gallery template. If you change the thumb size, then go down to the thumb preview. You should see a correctly sized preview thumb. If not then your host is causing the problem
