foogallery_Thumb_Image_Editor_GD and Imagify

I installed the Imagify plugin to test if there was a conflict with FooGallery. On my test environments, they both worked together correctly without any changes.

I was able to step through the code to try and replicate your problem, but I noticed that Imagify worked fine with the FooGallery_Thumb_Image_Editor_GD class we use. This is because that class inherits from the standard GD module.

Looking more closely at the code in Imagify, it calls the test method on the image editor to test compatibility on your server. So it looks like the GD install you have on your server is not setup correctly. Well that is my guess in any case.

So in summary, I do not think the problem is FooGallery_Thumb_Image_Editor_GD, but rather your setup of GD on the server. One way to test this is to deactivate FooGallery and see if Imagify starts to work.

Thank you for this.

I have two other sites running on the same server (without Foogallery) and Imagify works fine.

On this site, I replaced Imagify with EWWW Image Optimizer and it works good. But FooGallery is not loading the .webp images that are being generated by EWWW.

My server runs on PHP 8.1 and has only GD. ImageMagick is not supported as per Cpanel update.

After my last message, I changed to a different/better server and this issue still persists.

Imagify just would not work on this site. But it works fine on other sites.

The only difference is foogallery (premium). Everything else is pretty much the same – theme, plugins are identical.

I think next step is to reproduce your environment to try and figure this out. What is the output from System Info under FooGallery?

@elviiso, please can you see if you can replicate the issue with Imagify locally?
