I am beginning to think the right sidebar is haunted. The site is here. This is the situation…

I am trying to use three text widgets. One each at the top of the right sidebars on the page and blog, and a third in the footer. The two in the sidebars are for an opt-in, with the one in the footer for a website credit. The problem is that anything I put in the footer text widget immediately overrides the content in the other two. Because of this I have had to remove content from the footer widget. I have also seen it work the other way, with the sidebar content appearing in the footer, but I am not going to try to recreate it.

Is this in the theme? Help!

Not quite sure I understand what is happening, perhaps describe it differently and I will try this on my local test site. It sounds like you have 2 text widgets for the page and blog right sidebars, and then you add another to the footer sidebar position, but this one is overriding the others that are in the right sidebar column? How is it overriding them?

I just did a test locally and I put a text widget in the blog right sidebar, one in the page right sidebar, and then another in the footer sidebar position. Each show the appropriate content and titles and are independent of each other.

Any text I place in the footer text widget will override and appear in both of the sidebar text widgets. In this case I had the site credit in three places, two of them very prominent— the footer and both of the sidebar spots.

That is very odd…I cannot replicate that issue and this is the first I’ve heard of that happening. Is there a chance I can get you to publish three text widgets with some sample text in them, one for the Blog Right sidebar, one for the Page Right Sidebar, and then one for the footer. Once done, let me know and I will check it out so I can look at the code.

Odd, indeed! When I put the text back in, this time it worked the way it is supposed to. I wish I had take screen shots before to show what it was doing. It’s great that it is working but it makes me feel very odd that it was so very wrong before.

The only thing which has changed is the style applied to the widgets in the sidebar. Perhaps this acted as a reset?

    So that has resolved itself.
    thank you

    One more issue to go…

No worries…sometimes odd things happen and then suddenly self-resolve. When that happens, it makes my job easier ??
