• I’m working on a site in Graphene and in the process of adding and deleting widgets from footer and sidebar the footer has managed to move into the sidebar on the first page.

I’m not well versed in code, but using firebug I can see that the footer has ended up under the sidebar div, and that must be the problem. Am I right in thinking that if I move the footer back under <body-class> this will resolve the issue?

however, I don’t know how to get at and edit the code. I don’t see the same code choices in the Dashboard Editor as I do in firebug. not sure what if anything I could do in Dreamweaver.

any help for a neophyte much appreciated!

Given that there are literally thousands of WordPress themes – which means that many people won’t be familiar with your particular theme – I can only make a guess and suggest that you deleted a closing </div> along the way. Perhaps from your sidebar?

however, I don’t know how to get at and edit the code.

Try downloading the relevant template file, editing it and then uploading the amended file.

when I open the code via firebug I get a file called index.html. I do not see any such file to replace on my server.

what would be the relevent template file, if I opened it from my current site files?

I’ve opened index.php and found it rather ‘content-free’

    baffled,

Try downloading the relevant template file from your theme’s folder in wp-content/themes.
