Footer list

I have this in my footer file:

<ul id="footermenu">
<?php wp_list_pages('title_li=&sort_column=menu_order'); ?>
</ul>

Which works fine, however it adds classes to the

• tags such as this:

<li class="page_item page-item-6">

Firstly how can I remove those classes, and secondly I would like to be able to add a class to the first

• element but the rest have none, is this possible or what would be the easiest way to go about it?
