• Hello, I run a bilingual website. I have created a footer menu for each language: French and English, and have set English as the default language.
I am using pretty URL’s and I have created the second language page by clicking on the pencil icon. I am running Avada.

Only the main language is being displayed in the footer widget area and it doesn’t switch as it should.

I have looked at the widget configuration for each language.

I can set the correct menu widget for the main language, which is English. When I switch to see the French menu widget, it is now in English.

If I switch the language Widget to French and save it, then I switch to view the English widget and it now appears in French. It’s like an endless loop.

I must be missing something simple. Can you provide any insight? Kind thanks

I found a temporary fix on another forum. Posting it here as it might help you as well. This solution worked for me

In the WordPress Dashboard I went to Appearance > Widgets and created two widgets in each footer section instead of one Widget. You can then select a language at the bottom of the widget you wish the widget to display for if Polylang is enabled. For example: Write English text in one widget and and set the language to English, create another widget with your second language and activate it on the same language page.
