Footer text not in footer.php

    I’m using theme twenty twenty. What I see in my footer is not in the footer.php file. I need to update the copyright to include 2022 but what I see in my website footer is not the same as what I see in footer.php. So my actual footer text is coming from some other source!

    In the 2020 footer, the copyright date is generated by PHP code, so it should show 2022 on the morning of January 1st (though you might need to clear cache to get it to appear immediately).

    Sorry I wasn’t more clear. The footer I see is text that I created when I setup my website. I edited the footer.php file but my text is not in footer.php now. But my footer is still displayed.

    I cleared cache but that didn’t help.

    Footer.php now shows my edits. Not sure what happened but I can edit it now.
