I added a couple footer widgets to footer 1,2,3 and 4 and then they didn’t appear, and in fact disappear from the WordPress footer screen (and then reappear when I closed the customizer in another screen. In the customizer, I get a message:

“Your theme has 5 other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.

You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.”

What do I need to do to get my page to display them? I get this in pages with sidebar and no sidebar. I use a default page template, contained layout. I probably just set something worng, but don’t see it.

  • Hi @rstar1web,

That message from the Customizer isn’t most probably about the footer widgets, because it appears on my side too and my footer is displayed. There are some widgets that aren’t available on some pages.

This issue might be occurring due to a plugin conflict. So please deactivate all plugins and check if it resolves your issue and after that try activating the plugins one by one to find problematic plugin. Then replace it with an alternate plugin.
If it doesn’t resolve your issue please disable the “Coming soon” page to check the website.

Can you take a look https://hfebooks.com/ and tell me if you can figure what is blocking this. I have the layout set to contained, but I changed it and still couldn’t get the footer.

I have disabled almost everything except jetpack, akismet, and a contact form that would go into the footer.

I switch to 2020 theme and all the footers show up. It seems to be something with Neve.

The copyright from the footer is showing so it isn’t nothing wrong with the footer itself. Please go to the footer builder and make sure that the widgets from your configuration are still there: https://prnt.sc/ukxw1f and please disable all the plugins.

Within the theme customizer, I don’t know have the option to add widgets because of the message I showed you before: https://prntscr.com/uj2xgs that says this page does not have those widget areas.

This is the screen shot if I go into the footer builder area: https://prntscr.com/ul73z2

If I go to widgets in WordPress widget dashboard area, Footer 1, Footer 2, Footer 3, and Footer 4 are shown populated on the widget screen: https://prntscr.com/ul6dpb

The theme footer line with the copyright does show, but the footer widgets do not appear on the page https://www.hfebooks.com https://prntscr.com/ul6khi

If I switch to 2020 theme, the footer widgets display correctly. I have one other site using the footer widgets with Neve that has been up for 6 months that works fine.

I tried to rebuild a fresh page and still no footer widgets display. There are 3 other people in the Neve forum on facebook with the same problem – FYI

Aha! I have to go to the footer line and add those widgets manually! I don’t think I’ve ever done this before – it has always worked from the WordPress interface. I guess you have updated the interface? Anyway – fixed.

Yes, that is what I was talking about. I’m glad you found the solution ??
