footer widget settings not working on home

Hi there,

Is your home page the posts page? If so, WordPress ignores all metabox values for the posts page unfortunately.

However, you can do this:

add_filter( 'generate_footer_widgets','generate_posts_page_footer_widgets' );
function generate_posts_page_footer_widgets()
{
    // Show 3 widgets on the posts page
    if ( is_home() )
        return 3;

    // Show whatever we have set for all other pages
    return $widgets;
}

Actually the home page is set to a static page.

Interesting, so when you set the footer widgets to “3” and then update, does that setting stay there or does it revert back to the global setting?

It says 3 when its saved in the customizer and all the other pages are 3. It’s only that one set to home page that shows 4.
