Footnote in the post excerpt

Hi,
is there any ability to disable footnote display on post excerpts on my homepage?

I have turned on the option “Only show footnotes on single post/page” as stated in the readme, but it still displays footnote number by the text which doesn’t look good.

Any hints? Thanks!
