• My footnote numbers are out of order on random pages (5/49) through my site.

    For example on one page – in text footnotes read [1] [2] [3] [26] [4] [5] [27]

(and then at bottom of page in correct order – so [26] which should appear 4th (and be numbered [4]) appears at the second last spot; [27] last.)

On other pages they are in correct order.

How do I fix this? Help!

No reply, and issues continued at random on various pages, with no consistent method of fixing it.

Resolved by changing to another plugin.

I’m also having this problem, and I’d rather not change plugins. Does anyone know what’s wrong? You can see that they are out of order on this page: https://thenormalschool.com/anything-will-be-easy-after-this-by-bethany-maile/

For example, it goes 20, 21, 35. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was usually something to do with the footnote before.

So for the one you describe take a close look at footnote 21 in text mode. Check that there is no extra code that has randomly appeared (if you cut and pasted from somewhere else it might be that – so remove extra code).

Otherwise sometimes removing/rewording/shortening worked. Others, I had to remove italics – but that didn’t work all the time, and you don’t seem to have italics. The problem I found was that the ‘solution’ was just as random as when the out of order numbering appears. There was no ‘one’ fix – and fixing one doesn’t solve the problem.

I imagine it’s a bug somewhere in the plugin.

Maybe someone else has a better idea???

    Good luck!

    Sorry for the inconveniences!

Of course we like to offer a working and very good plugin. I’ll sit myself on a round table with my fellow developers and get the issues solved ASAP.

I’m very sorry to see you leave and that it was necessary…

    Hello !
    Same problem !
Do you have some news ?

Same problem here. Let’s say I have put 7 footnotes in my post. If I go back up and add an eighth at the beginning, it is displayed as the #8 footnote instead of the footnotes all being renumbered in correct order. Any solutions?
