With the latest version we are getting errors reported in Google merchant centre mentioning “for issue: Incorrect value [identifier exists]”. GTINS exist for these products although the feed shows “<g:identifier_exists>no</g:identifier_exists>”.

We tried removing the field from field mapping and re-generating the feed but it is still there. We tried creating a new feed without the field “g:identifier_exists” but still it is there.

    Regards

  • Hi Karan,

The error notification you are seeing has nothing to do with any release of our plugin but with the data you are providing to Google’s merchant center.

    See this:
    https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324478?hl=en

    Specifically this sentence:
“Products for which the identifier_exists attribute is incorrectly set to no or false and for which there is evidence that a unique product identifier exists, will be disapproved”

So when you are not providing a GTIN or MPN/Brand for your products (or a wrong GTIN) then our plugin will put the identifier exists on “no”. However, when Google believes your products should have a GTIN (because Google knows) than it will disapprove of your product(s), which seems the case for you?

“When product identifiers are provided, the attribute value should be set to true or not set at all”

Ah i am sorry to say but thats not the case with us. For all our products there is a GTIN value specified since 1.5 years now and the same is been fed in Google merchant center using feed since beginning. We have been using your plugin from day 1 for this purpose. ??
Problem is although there is a GTIN specified for the product but when we see the xml feed on our server it shows “<g:identifier_exists>no</g:identifier_exists>” which is incorrect. So ideally either the value should by “yes” or since we removed the field from field mappings tab, it should not come in the xml feed itself.
Sample of an item for your reference:
    <g:gtin>00019962474934</g:gtin>
    <g:condition>New</g:condition>
    <g:mpn>ECO-30G4PRO</g:mpn>
    <g:identifier_exists>no</g:identifier_exists>

Also if you notice, g:brand is not shown. We are using Perfect Woocommerce brands plugin for brands and have assigned the same to field in feed for brand name but since last upgrade it is not fetching the brand name in xml feeds.

Cause of this all our products are showing under Warning “Incorrect value [identifier exists]”.

Forgot to tag you in the reply @evavangelooven

Ok, so the real problem is that somehow the brand did not end up in your feed anymore which caused the identifier_exists to become “no”.

Could you try updating to version 7.0.8 of our plugin and give it another try?

Ok that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks

    Perfect, closing the issue.
